Slots developer Play’n Go has just made its Michigan debut in a seasonally-appropriate way.
The company announced on Dec 12 that it has teamed up with BetMGM Casino to bring its games to the Wolverine State.
Magnus Olsen, Chief Commercial Officer for Play’n GO, said:
We believe strongly that the future of the industry will be in regulated spaces, and so it’s considerable pride that we are able to bring our content to one of the first states in the US to really grasp the regulated iGaming opportunity – Michigan.
Our teams enjoy nothing more than working closely with our partners to help them achieve their business goals using our content and expertise. Launching today in Michigan with BetMGM is another fantastic step forward in our relationship.
The Swedish developer has already built experience with BetMGM, as the online casino started offering Play’n Go’s games in New Jersey in October.
Play’n Go obtained its Michigan license five months ago, in July. However, it lacked a partnership until now. This represents the first chance Michiganders have to try its games.

What Play’n Go Games Are Available at BetMGM?
Appropriately enough for the time of year, the only title available at the launch is a holiday-themed slot called X-Mas Joker. BetMGM has obtained the exclusive rights to offer this game in Michigan.
It’s straightforward to play, with just three reels and five paylines. It features Christmas Present scatter symbols during its free spins round. Three of these will re-trigger the free spins, while two provide a randomized gift of up to 100x your wager.
Though X-Mas Joker is simple, many Play’n Go titles are better known for elaborate and innovative bonus mechanics.
Other games that the company says will be available in Michigan soon include:
- Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead: The Egyptian-inspired game follows the adventures of Rich Wilde, an Indiana Jones-type adventurer. It’s a five-reel, ten-payline game whose Expanding Symbols bonus round has made it an international hit.
- Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness: This sequel to the previous Rich Wilde title is a little darker, taking a page from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. It’s also a more complex game with a 5×5 cluster pay mechanic and multiple types of Wild symbols with special powers.
- Crystal Sun: A space and crystals-themed game with a 5×3 grid, ten paylines and expanding wilds.
Play’n Go’s catalog contains over 200 games. The company has announced that other titles will be available soon. While they don’t mention specifics, the Reactoonz series is among the company’s most popular – and most elaborate. Other top titles include Moon Princess, Fire Joker, and Gunslinger: Reloaded.
The company’s developers are nothing if not prolific. It expects to have released 50 new titles in 2022 alone.
Further Expansion Plans for Play’n Go in the US
Play’n Go is active in 25 regulated jurisdictions worldwide, including the Canadian province of Ontario. It’s early days for the company in the US, however. Michigan is only its second state after New Jersey. Even in the Garden State, it’s a newcomer, having debuted on Sep 7.
In the press release, Olson also said:
As states like Michigan, New Jersey, and others have shown, there is a considerable demand. I’m sure we’ll see more states introduce regulated iGaming over the coming 12-24 months, and I know that Play’n GO is exceptionally well positioned to thrive in the USA.
Additionally, the company’s CEO Johan Tornqvist said in an interview they’re “preparing for a marathon and not a sprint,” insisting that Play’n GO will focus on sustainable growth. But what does he mean by that? He sees opportunities in following regulations and adjusting to the market, not rushing, and most importantly, not making “bonus buy” games or any other means of fast revenue.
