No. 5 Michigan State at Purdue; Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET
Michigan State to score 3+ rushing TDs (+200) — Max bet $25
Analysis: It’s easy to get caught up in the hype after a big win. Michigan State rallied in the second half behind RB Kenneth Walker and scored five rushing TDs en route to the win over Michigan. It’s the third time in eight games the Spartans have scored at least three rushing TDs this year. The first two times came against lowly Northwestern and Western Kentucky, both of which rank near the bottom of the NCAA in rushing defense. The Spartans’ five-TD performance against Michigan, which ranks No. 32 in rushing TDs allowed, is a nice boost to show they can accomplish this feat against tougher teams.
Purdue is far from one of the tougher teams. The Boilermakers have allowed 10 rushing TDs in eight games. They allowed three apiece to Oregon State and Wisconsin. Based on that, and Michigan State’s track record against lesser defenses, this might be a good spot to place some money on this prop.
Indiana at No. 9 Michigan; Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET
Michigan to score points in every quarter (+100) — Max bet $25
Analysis: Coming off its first loss of the season, Michigan likely will be focused to bounce back in front of a packed Big House on Saturday night. The Wolverines are big favorites, and with the way Indiana has sputtered against its toughest opponents this season, it’s difficult to see the Wolverines not winning this game comfortably. Michigan has scored in every quarter in four of its eight games this season and likely would have done so against Northern Illinois if it had not led 63-3 at the end of the third quarter.
Despite its struggles, this season, Indiana has allowed an opponent to score in every quarter twice in eight games (Ohio State and Penn State). It wouldn’t necessarily be surprising if Michigan accomplishes this feat, but there is not a strong enough track record on either side to justify making the wager at such a small price of +100.
NFL Player Prop Promos, Sunday Games
Aaron Jones and Tyreek Hill both to score TDs (+300) — Max bet $25
Analysis: Of all the promos in this article, this is easily the one that presents the best value. With QB Aaron Rodgers out, the Packers are sure to give more touches to RB Jones (7 TDs). Jones is a threat to score running and receiving so it’s easy to see him hitting paydirt against a Kansas City defense that has been one of the worst in the NFL. WR Hill (6 TDs) has remained productive even though opposing defenses have figured out how to limit his big plays by putting a roof over him. His 11.5 yards per catch this season rank well below his career average of 18.1. It hasn’t kept him out of the end zone, as three of his six TD receptions went for six yards or fewer.
Alvin Kamara, Joe Mixon, and Stefon Diggs all to score TDs (+600) — Max Bet $25
Analysis: The price on this promo is juicy and makes this one worth taking a swing on. RB Mixon (7 TDs) is the focal point of the Bengals’ running game, and RB Kamara (6 TDs) is the focal point of the entire Saints offense. The fact that both of them have scored multiple touchdowns rushing and receiving bodes well for their chances of getting into the end zone on Sunday. It has been an underwhelming season for WR Diggs, but he has not disappeared entirely. Buffalo is facing lowly Jacksonville and should not have trouble racking up scoring opportunities so Diggs has a good chance to add to his season total of three touchdowns.
Joe Burrow and Josh Allen 250+ Passing Yards Each (+100) — Max Bet $50
Analysis: It may seem in today’s NFL that passing for 250 yards in a single game is easily achievable for an above-average quarterback, but there is no need to jump all the way in right away. Cincinnati’s Burrow averages 276.9 passing yards per game and has reached the 250 mark six times in eight games. Buffalo’s Allen averages 281.7 passing yards per game but has been less consistent than Burrow. Allen has reached 250 yards in four of seven games, but in two of the three games he fell short, he had 248 and 249. The Bills should have an easy go of it at Jacksonville on Sunday, and that could mean turning to the run game in the second half. The +100 price on this promo doesn’t stand out, but for a prop that could sail over, it could be a lot worse.
Patrick Mahomes & Justin Herbert 300+ Passing Yards Each (+400) — Max bet $25
Analysis: These two gunslingers have had similar track records this year when it comes to cashing their part of this prop. Both of them threw for well over 300 yards in each of their first two games but have done it only once apiece since then. Kansas City’s struggle has been well documented, and Mahomes (296 yards per game) and the offense just don’t look right. Herbert and the Chargers started hot, but have been mostly bad the last two weeks. Herbert (284.9 yards per game) has thrown for 195 yards and 223 yards in consecutive losses. While these two players are not shoe-ins to reach 300 yards, the +400 price is difficult to pass up.
