The Detroit Pistons host the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, Oct. 19, to open their NBA season. Detroit is expected to rely on a young core of players, including Cade Cunningham, who finished third in NBA Rookie of the Year voting for the 2021-22 season.

How to Claim Your Free Bets With BetMGM Michigan Bonus Code SHARP

To qualify for this offer from BetMGM, you must be a new user of the BetMGM sports betting app in any state with legal sports betting except NY, PA, MS, and Ontario. Once you download the app you’ll be prompted to verify your identity and confirm your email to complete registration. When asked to supply a code, use BetMGM Michigan Bonus Code SHARP.

To get the Bet $10 Win $200 NBA Offer:

  • Place a moneyline wager for $10 or more on any NBA game between Oct. 18 and Nov. 1 (Note: this must be your first bet after opening your BetMGM account)
  • Once you submit your betting slip you will receive $200 in free bets if a three-point shot is made successfully in that NBA game.
  • Your original bet is not impacted by this offer; you will be paid out on the moneyline as you would normally.
  • Your free betting credits from BetMGM will be awarded as four $50 Free Bets.

Please note: the $200 free bet payout is essentially a bonus paid out if an NBA three-point shot is made in the game you bet on. This is not an “odds-based” bonus. If you wager $20 you do not get more than $200 in free bets. Your winnings will be whatever you earn from your qualifying bet (if it wins) PLUS the $200 in free bets. For example, if you wager $20 on +100 odds and your bet wins, you’ll get $20 PLUS the $200 in Free Bets, assuming a three-point shot is made in that game.

Three-point shots are made on average 35% of the time, so you are almost guaranteed to win the $200 in free bets.

Magic vs. Pistons NBA Game Preview, Oct. 19

There’s a wide gap between the expectations of these two teams as they start the regular season. The Orlando Magic simply want to get better after a disastrous season in 2021-22 that saw them post the 15th-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

But the Detroit Pistons have legit hopes to be a playoff team. Under head coach Dwane Casey, the team is seeking to add enough wins to get into at least the play-in tournament. Detroit has not won more than 23 games in a season since 2018-19 the last time this franchise was in the NBA Playoffs.

The Pistons starting lineup will feature a bunch of guys with seemingly limitless athletic skill, but who don’t look like they have ever needed to shave. Cunningham turned 21 in September, and he’s joined by a pair of heralded rookies, 18-year-old Jalen Duren, and 20-year-old Jaden Ivey.  The projected starting center, Isaiah Stewart, is 21 years old.

Is the Detroit youth movement a foundation of many years of winning basketball? Or will it be another disappointing era for a once-proud franchise? Casey is pushing all his chips in on the youngsters, and Detroit will have a chance on opening night to showcase the young new backcourt tandem of Cunningham and Ivey. The latter brings a combination of shooting and penetration skills the Pistons haven’t seen since Chauncey Billups.

Orlando is optimistic that it will be at least more exciting this season. The team will have Paolo Banchero in its uniform the first overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft. The season opener on Wednesday in Detroit will thus feature four players selected in the top five of the draft in the last two years.

Last season, the Pistons won three of their four meetings against the Magic, with a 2-0 record at home. The Magic were 10-31 on the road in 2021-22, the second-worst road record in the league.

We expect Detroit to unveil their young players with a win in the season opener. Here’s an NBA parlay pick for Game 1 of the NBA season for DEEEEETROIT BASKETBAAAAAALL:

  • Detroit Pistons to Win
  • Cade Cunninggham To Score Over 19.5 Points
  • Wendell Carter Jr. To Score Over 15.5 Points
